How to adjust a barometer

Barometer is a device, which shows atmospheric pressure continuously. A basis of barometer is aneroid. It is the tight body filled with gas. The geometrical sizes of aneroid change at atmospheric pressure changing. It makes to move an arrow (pointer) of a barometer.

It is necessary to adjust a barometer, if its indications are different with the local meteostation indications more than on 8 mmHg. Usually there is an adjusting screw in a back part of the case for barometer adjustment. Turn this screw on a corner no more than 45 degrees, while the barometer will not be adjusted.
